Metropolis Salon is a modern, welcoming space tucked into one of Washington, DC's most vibrant neighborhoods. Since 2016, we've been a salon home for the city's professionals, creatives, and everyone in between. A place to be cared for, unwind, and leave feeling like yourself, only better.
Our Story
Metropolis was founded in 2016 by stylist Michael Talavera, with a clear vision: to create a holistic salon experience that pairs premium services and products with a genuinely warm, welcoming environment.
Michael brought more than twenty years of styling and color experience to that vision, having trained under leading stylists across Santo Domingo, New York City, and Washington, DC. What began as one stylist's passion for healthy hair, fashion, and craft has grown into a team known for its versatility, its eye for detail, and its care — sought out by DC's media personalities, government officials, and busy professionals from Capitol Hill to K Street.
