Michael Talavera is Metropolis Salon’s owner and Hair Stylist/Colorist, based in Washington, D.C., with over 21+ years of styling and cutting experience. Michael cultivated his skills under leading industry stylists in the Santo Domingo, New York City and D.C. areas. He is a professional in creating healthy hair, styling, and coloring, working exclusively with DAVINES, a natural Italian product line. Michael established Metropolis Salon in 2016. His attention to hair details, passion for fashion and style, drives him to craft cuts, and treatments consistently at the forefront of today's trends. He is renowned for his versatility in styling and cutting techniques, his evaluation of hair responses and visual effects, and his range of product knowledge. These skills make him and his staff at Metropolis Salon the sought after stylists for DC's media personalities, government officials, and ambitious professionals of Capitol Hill and K Street NW. Michael loves to travel to fun places, lots of plants and he is a “foodie”, enjoying well cooked meals at home and throughout the DC restaurant scene.

Luis Ojeda, hairstylist, colorist, and standout in the world of makeup. Luis has over 13 years of experience, specializing in balayage and straightening techniques. His training and professional experience were in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and here in the US. He has collaborated with international fashion magazines and with television and entertainment teams supporting the Teen Universe Pageant as a makeup artist and hairstylist. Currently he is passionate about sharing knowledge by conducting Master classes in colorist continuing education hair professionals in the Metro area. He is a believer that success exists if there is a foundation in perseverance, education, and personal enthusiasm. His greatest joy is being with his family, and the growth he experiences in new connections.

Richard D’Amico, from North Hampton, MA, is an esteemed Hair Stylist/Colorist with 30+ years of professional salon experiences from New York, Los Angeles, and the DC Metro areas. As a friend and longtime client stated “Richard is on the older side, and as such, doesn’t care much for trite things such as bios. He likes visiting Japan and enjoys the details of Japanese culture. Richard enjoys fine breads, but bestest of all he likes fine Japanese breads (probably not really). But he’s a hoot, book your appointment now!” Richard’s hair styling, cutting, and coloring skills are undeniably superb! He is knowledgeable on numerous current topics, restaurants, events, and people in the D.C. area. His darling dog, Sofia, says Richard is fantastic conversationalist and Stylist who provides expert services!!

LEAD RECEPTIONIST | ASSISTANT

Born in Washington, D.C., Cristina has worked as a receptionist and shampoo assistant for Metropolis for 2 years. After graduating from Cosmetology School in 2014, Cristina worked in Marriott customer services and in various practical environments in the hair industry since 2015. Cristina loves traveling, working out and being a great mom.
